When you send a job to feed from the paper cassette, does it try to
print and do you then get a blinking trouble message? On this printer it
is very easy to test and see the movement of the pickup roller for the
tray. Just remove the tray and you will see a small black flag next to
the pickup roller.
That is the paper out flag. Just send a print job to the printer and at the same time lift up on that flag and the pickup roller in the printer should attempt to turn. Does it? If it does, then just clean the roller with warm soapy water and dry and see if that helps. If it does, you may need to replace the roller or in some cases if you remove it which is not that hard and you are real careful it is possible to "crawl" the rubber around the roller so the worn spot is located where it does not contact the paper.
